I’m back, after missing a few days. I could’ve just quit, but chose to get back at it. It’s just been one of those weeks…
First, it was the 14th anniversary of my dad passing away. I don’t know why it’s called an anniversary or who even started calling death dates, anniversaries. Anniversaries are supposed to be for celebrating. I do not celebrate that day. But it’s a date that is stuck in my head and whenever I see it, or have to write it, I’m reminded.
Second, I had a before school faculty meeting. On these days, I have to “battle” my non morning person 10 year old daughter. It’s just a little extra challenging.
Third, I have grad school on Thursdays. So, I leave school right at dismissal. Then drive 40 minutes to my class, where I stay until 6:30pm. Then drive 30 minutes home. I’m going for an advanced masters in School and Building Leadership. I’m really enjoying being back in school and learning a lot.
Fourth, my hubby left Thursday morning to go away for 3 days for work. It’s not usual for him to travel for work, so there was some adjusting that needed to happen. Thankfully, my mom lives so close to us and took care of my daughter while I was in class on Thursday night.
Fifth, I had a big day in school on Friday. I’m part of an RtI design team in my district and as part of my internship grad school, I’m sort of “co-leading” this work with my Assistant Principal. On Friday, we hosted the team in our school to visit some of our RtI meetings and interview some stake holders and get a feel of how the process works in our building. The feedback we got from the other team members was so positive. It was a great day (but stressful leading up to the visit!)
I’m sure I missed some things on this list, but just looking at it is making me tired all over again. Next on my list is….Report Cards!
I’m participating in the March Slice of Life Story Challenge! Thank you to the team of writers at Two Writing Teachers for this wonderful writing community. A place for us to grow together as writers.
