Day 17 ~ March SOLSC
Coffee share inspiration from Ecletic Alli
Sit back and relax – Let’s enjoy a cup of coffee. I’m on my second cup this morning. Trying a new blend from my favorite grocery store, Stew Leonards. It caught my attention yesterday when I was shopping because is had shamrocks on the label and is called “Blarney Brew Blend.” It is a delicious cup of coffee.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I had Parent Teacher conferences on Thursday and Friday this week. I was exhausted after the two days. I do enjoy meeting with parents and talking about all of the progress their kids are making, but sitting and doing most of the talking isn’t really what I’m used to. But, this time around, many parents told me how excited their kids were about writing on the blog. I’m so happy to hear that. Hopefully it is motivating some of my reluctant writers. We shall see!
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that my poor girl was sick this week. She started her week off in urgent care with her grandma for an infected pimple. The next day had a scheduled dermatologist appointment for something else. And then on Friday, she woke up with a fever. Of course I called her doctor because I was concerned the fever was related to her first infection. But, it turns out all things were unrelated. This just wasn’t her week. Thankfully, she’s 100% better today 🙂
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that today is a day where I’m missing my dad a lot. He absolutely loved St. Patrick’s Day. My dad loved all types of holidays and celebrations. Ok, so perhaps he just liked partying and was always finding a reason to get together and celebrate. But, that’s one of the things I miss most about him. He always found a reason to be happy and to have a good time. And today, I’m just wishing I could celebrate our Irish on St. Patty’s day with some beer and food.
If we were having coffee, I’d tell you that I really enjoyed chatting with you today over some delicious coffee. I’d love to hear how your week has been too. Happy St. Patty’s Day!
I’m participating in the March Slice of Life Story Challenge! Thank you to the team of writers at Two Writing Teachers for this wonderful writing community. A place for us to grow together as writers.
Enjoyed the coffee and chat 🙂 Cherish those memories of your dad.

If I were having coffee with you, I would say that it has been wonderful. It sounds like you had a busy week. Parent conferences can be exhausting, but they are SO worth it – for the teacher AND the parent. I would tell you that I had a bunch of highlights last week, so I am looking forward to another week of school (hoping for more highlights:). Thank you for sharing! Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

I love the structure of this post. If we were having coffee I would tell you that I miss my dad, too. And that the coffee you’re describing sounds delicious. And that I enjoyed having coffee with you as well. Have a great week!

We had conferences this week too, but middle school teachers have very few. Sorry your daughter had a stressful week too! Hopefully you both got to enjoy some down time today…and maybe with a cup of coffee.
