Day 16 ~ March SOLSC
The sun is shining. The sky is a beautiful blue that’s speckled with some white puffy clouds. I sit, watching the breeze blow the still bare tree branches.
We should be outside enjoying this bright sunny day. I should go for a run and get some fresh air and vitamin D. Emma should be riding her bike and we could be having a catch. But, that’s not in the cards for us today.
Emma is curled up in a blanket on the couch – headache and lingering fever. She’s mad that I’m “making” her relax. It is so hard to get her to realize that her body needs rest and if she rests, then she will feel better. One day she’ll get it!
As for me, I’m relaxing on the couch next to her. I could be cleaning or tidying up or doing laundry, but I’m just sitting. Music is playing and I’m reading and writing.
I can go for a run later when my hubby comes home. I can do the laundry tomorrow. There will always be chores – they never go away. So for now, I’ll try to model resting and relaxing for Emma, and then let her try it with me, and then let her do it on her own. I do, we do, you do!
Happy Saturday!
I’m participating in the March Slice of Life Story Challenge! Thank you to the team of writers at Two Writing Teachers for this wonderful writing community. A place for us to grow together as writers.
Thank you for sharing! Even I have to remind myself to relax sometimes.

It was such a long week I agree…lazy day today.
I am not going to the gym or leaving the house. It is writing and reading and napping today!

A mid-March Saturday is the perfect time to relax. I find that when one of my children is sick it slows me down. If it’s the little one, I have to take a day off of work to be home with her. It is usually a very relaxing day and is the perfect way to hit “restart”.:) Thanks for sharing!

I hope Emma feels better tomorrow. I wish I could’ve rested Wednesday when I wasn’t feeling good. But I couldn’t find a sub and was miserable. I wanted to curl up much like she is in that picture. I’m glad you enjoyed your lazy Saturday too.
