Family date night

Day 14 ~ March SOLSC

Today was a busy day for both my hubby and I.  He’s been working on a job site for some time now, and is feeling the pressure to be done with the installation of air conditioning units.  Lots of texts today about how he was feeling stressed.  Lots of responses from me that said “just breathe.”  For me, it was day 1 of 2 of parent teacher conferences.  Not nearly as stressful as what he was going through, but the day was definitely tiring.  I do love sharing all of the progress my kids are making with their families.  It brings me so much joy – but the days are long.

Anyway, since we were both tired, we decided that cooking dinner was out of the question.  We decided to go to one of our favorite restaurants where we live.  Good food, cold beer, and cozy atmosphere.  We got a corner booth and just relaxed, chatted, and enjoyed some food.  The perfect ending to a hectic day.

I’m participating in the March Slice of Life Story Challenge!  Thank you to the team of writers at Two Writing Teachers for this wonderful writing community.  A place for us to grow together as writers.

  1. I’m glad you all gave yourselves a well-deserved break and went out to eat. I feel like parent-teacher conference days are a different drain on me than a school day. I’m used to talking with kids, and actually letting them do most of the talking. Conference days tire me because parents are fully-focused on me (for the most part). 🙂
