Day 12 ~ March SOLSC
Tonight I was thrown a little curve ball – had to pick my bro and his friend up at the airport. It’s not that I minded – more than happy to do it. It just wasn’t on my plan for this evening. I knew they were coming home today. I was the one who drove them last Friday to the airport. But, for some reason, it didn’t occur to me that I’d be picking them up. I totally thought someone else was getting them. Ha!
Anyway, my daughter and I got in the car and left after her ballet class. Made a quick stop at McDonald’s for dinner to go. Not my first choice, but like I said before, I wasn’t really prepared for a small road trip! It took us over an hour to get there (traffic), then we had to wait on the “Arrival” line (more traffic), and then about 50 minutes to get home. Kind of a long drive for a school night. But, Emma was a great co-pilot. “Mommy drive under the arrows for terminal 5. Stay under the 5 arrow. Not 7. Stay right here.” And, she was so very excited to see her Bubba (my name for him and the 2nd word she ever spoke). I mean she hadn’t seen him since Friday night. Almost 4 full days without seeing her Bubba. Of course, Bubba brought her back a few gifts, and she was so grateful. Many smiles and a big thank you. So glad Bubba is back home!
I’m participating in the March Slice of Life Story Challenge! Thank you to the team of writers at Two Writing Teachers for this wonderful writing community. A place for us to grow together as writers.
