#Weekend Coffee Share – #sol19

Day 10 ~ March SOLSC

(My Coffee Share inspiration can be found  here and here)

Sit back and relax – Let’s enjoy a cup of coffee.  I’ve lost count of what number cup I’m on today and it’s already the afternoon.  But, I can drink coffee all day.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’m a huge procrastinator.  Well, I don’t procrastinate for everything.  Usually just things I don’t find as much joy in doing.  For example, my report cards are due on Monday.  I started writing the comments yesterday, but I got them done!  I enjoy meeting with my kids parents and chatting, but I don’t find joy from writing comments and inputing the “grades.”  So, I put it off until the last minute.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I’m training for my second half marathon next month and I took advantage of a bright, sunny day yesterday for an 8 mile run.  I run so much better outside in the fresh air.  I felt really good, but then my tendonitis flared up a little bit.  I’m trying not to worry and just do my stretches and ice it.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that my first graders are so excited about writing lately.  I shared my blog with them and then showed them that I had them set up on their own blog.  They couldn’t wait to get started and have even been writing over the weekend.  My heart is bursting with joy over their excitement.  I can’t wait to see what’s in store for us this week in first grade.

If we were having coffee, I would tell you that I enjoyed our time together chatting over coffee.  I’d love to hear about what is going on in your life!  Cheers!

I’m participating in the March Slice of Life Story Challenge!  Thank you to the team of writers at Two Writing Teachers for this wonderful writing community.  A place for us to grow together as writers.

  1. Jen, I am sitting here reading poetry and slices so I could construct my March 10th blog but I am not drinking coffee. I will share a cup of hot chocolate with splashes of coffee-my latest craze (mayble I should write about that tomorrow). I loved hearing about your 1st graders who are becoming young writers. Happy Sunday!

  2. There is nothing better than when my students want to write! When I have to put writing to the side for something else that needs to get done, I fear my students will throw tomatoes at me!

  3. Thanks for sharing. I like the rhythm you created with “If we were having coffee…” It created a really welcoming voice.

Good luck in your training for the race too. I hope we get to hear more about that in the future.

  4. I am finding this format among many slicers. If I do this, mine would be Diet Coke! I love that your students are blogging. I did this when I taught 4th grade, and they loved it! Hope you get some great stories tomorrow!
