Day 6 – March SOLSC
I follow @TeachWriteEDU on Twitter and every day there is a Word of the Day as part of the Daily Writing Project to help inspire daily writing. I wasn’t sure what I was going to write today, so I turned to #DWHabit for some inspiration.
Word of the Day: Smile (technically yesterday’s word)
Smiles can be so powerful -the simplest act of kindness. You can turn someone’s day around and bring joy with a smile.
Smiles can warm your heart – when I see my daughter smile, I can feel the warmth radiate throughout. And when I need some extra warmth, I find a picture of my dad – his smile was the best.
Smiles just feel good – think about it. Don’t you just feel better after smiling and having someone smile back?! Throw in a giggle with that smile and you’re good to go!
Smiles can light up a room – every day I can’t wait to see my room full of 6 & 7 year old smiles and laughs.
Smiles are contagious. Bring joy to someone today with a smile. Our world can use a lot more smiles!
I’m participating in the March Slice of Life Story Challenge! Thank you to the team of writers at Two Writing Teachers for this wonderful writing community. A place for us to grow together as writers.
Thanks for the reminder to smile. I need to follow their twitter for those words of encouragement!

I LOVE the Word of the Day! I use it with two first grade classes and a fifth grade class. I am always amazed at each writers take on the same word! Watching them create is inspirational! I love the message in your slice. It sure is the truth! Just smile! I often tell my own children, “keep smiling” – smiles do make the world a brighter place! Thanks for sharing!
